Enjoying Summertime

It's that time of year again when one steps away from the computer to enjoy life with friends and family. Sunday was a beach BBQ day with some of the Yuppie Racing crew. Packed up the wife, drove to Scusset Beach State Reservation in my Mazda RX-8, and enjoyed the day by the canal with friends. Oh yea, the cars were hot! No....really. It was damn hot out! Lol.

Long Time Coming

Wow! Has it really been a whole month since I last posted? Phew have I been busy. Summer is here and that means car shows, meets, hanging with friends, and trying to stay offline as much as possible, although as tough as that may be because it's my job. Lol!

So for now I will simply post this one photo I took of the SpeedSource RX-8 at Lime Rock Park.

3M Di-NOC CF wrapped pod

So I decided to wrap my center console DELL pod with it. With a very light amount of heat this stuff becomes very easy to work with. I then sprayed a couple light coats of clear coat over it to darken it up and give it some shine. Overall I really like the product. Here you can compare between real CF and the vinyl. It's difficult to see in a photo, but the vinyl still retains that CF "effect" when you move around it.

Flex Innovations specializes in high end earth and grounding kits. The sleeves with the diamond tracers are self extinguishing and adds a sleek yet OEM appearance while the wires improve the efficiency of the electrical system.

NEPOC Spring Clean Meet 2010

Every year we (NEPOC) get together to clean our cars after a long cold winter. I organize a sponsorship with Poorboy's World who supplies us with many of their fine detailing products such as polishes, sealants, and waxes. This year I hosted the event as our regular location at Mark's house was cancelled due to rain. It was a fun day of washing, detailing, chatting, and other activities.

3M Di-NOC Carbon Fiber Vinyl

I just received my sample of the 3M Di-NOC Carbon Fiber Vinyl. I've seen other various fake CF products before and after seeing many applications of use online I thought I'd check it out in person.

There's simply no comparison to real Carbon Fiber weave. However, just in terms of the "realness" of this product, the 3M Di-NOC is by far the best looking of all the fake CF vinyl applications available to date.

All Mazda Cape Cod Meet

40 Mazdas invade Cape Cod on a sunny warm Saturday afternoon. We met up in a parking lot before going over the bridge and onto Cape Cod. A quick cruise down the highway and then into the new and only Mazda dealer on Cape Cod. (Finally one local to me again.)

I organized the meet with the dealership as well as contacted Mazda Corporate for free Mazda swag. Everyone left with a bunch of goodies. Then off to lunch and a beach photo shoot after.

Mazdaspeed Miata Detailing

After a long morning of detailing with Poorboy's World products, my friend Mark and I went for a drive down to the local beach for some quick snaps. Both the Mazdaspeed Miata and my RX-8 share the same Velocity Red Mica paint. They simply sparkle in direct sunlight. Hope you enjoy!

Polished Racing Beat RX-8 Exhaust

Decided to take on the exhaust in my Mazda RX-8 again to keep it fully polished. After two and a half years it's looking really good. I've always kept it cleaned with Eagle One Nevr-Dull and metal polish. However I went at the whole exhaust with some Megs ScratchX and using a polishing pad on a drill to really buff it out. Worked perfectly! It takes out all of the yellow tarnishing.

An excellent start to the day. Watching the sunrise at the beach. Perfect lighting for the Mazda RX-8 as it shows the lines so beautifully. A little chilly still at 44 degrees but that's ok. Enjoy.
