NEPOC Fall Clean Meet 2008

The annual NEPOC Fall Clean Meet is about detailing cars, installing mods, and just plain fun. It was a perfect day starting at 9:00AM and ending around 4:00PM. A big thanks goes out to Mark for hosting the event and a very big thanks to Steve at Poorboys World (www.poorboysworld.com) for supplying many of the detailing products.

I assisted and educated many of our members on detailing techniques. Some spent the day cleaning while others had mods to install or regular maintenance items.

GReddy air diverter panel

I had the panel custom powder coated in a gold finish to match my Beatrush parts. It's more of a visual item than functional.

Dell Axim GPS + Footlights

Big thanks to my friend Oleg for the products. The Dell Axim is a PDA with TomTom bluetooth software. It works perfectly and is currently mounted by a removeable suction unit to the glass.

Also installed red LED footlights in the front of the cabin. The passenger side breadboard and wires connecting to the last and 4th LED light was broken off. A little glue and sauder and it works again. These lights turn on in conjunction with the door courtesy lights.

Beatrush rear strut bar

Upon arrival of my bar today I immediately began the installation. It was simple really. Had to take out the sub box and remove side panels. Then the stock strut braces. Slight modification to the panels had to be done by means of cutting out extra clearance for the new strut braces. Bolted right in, reinstalled panels and sub box, done.

Project Hot Wheels

The car is actually made by Jada Toys, but I call it my "Hot Wheels". I had purchased a can of OEM Velocity Red paint for other projects and thought why not do a small diecast car to match my own.

Step 1. Disassemble

Easy enough since there are 2 screws holding the car together, unlike most small diecast that have a stamp rivet. I also cut out and removed the very large rear wing.

Step 2. Fill and Paint

I used a body filler to smooth out the left over wing mount holes. Painted the wheels bronze. Primed and VR base coat.

Step 3. Final Paint and assembley

I painted the interior seats red and clear coated the exterior. Added some other finishing exterior paint details
